EDUNIVERSAL WORLD CONVENTION 2018 - REPORT

The 11th edition of the Eduniversal World Convention was held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 16th to 19th of October 2018. This annual conference, which has become a must-attend event for the Deans & Directors of the Schools and other key players in higher education worldwide, brought together more than 85 institutions from 40 different countries this year.
A common question brought together all the participants for this event: How should Business Schools react and adapt to the 4th Industrial Revolution? It was indeed urgent for our partners to learn to combine the creativity and strategy to provide future generations with the right tools, skills and knowledge. Representatives of the universities and schools therefore benefited from a two-day conference, working sessions in small groups to focus on the expansion and transformation of education through technological advances. To do this, 4 main themes were predefined by our team and addressed within the University of Dubrovnik:
- CURRICULUM TRANSFORMATION
- SELECTION, RECRUITMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF PEOPLE IN BUSINESS SCHOOLS
- NEW FORMATS, METHODS, APPROACHES & FORMS OF LEARNING
- TRANSFORMATION & NURTURING OF BUSINESS SCHOOL'S ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
The presentations and debates have given rise to countless reflections, which is a real success for all of us. Indeed, as the event is well represented in the world, we can proudly say that each participant was able to leave with new expertise and ideas to put in place and to contribute for a better and more accessible education for the young generation of their country.
Distribution of schools represented by geographical area:
- Western Europe - 26.9%
- Eastern Europe - 23.1%
- Africa - 12.2%
- Central Asia - 9.3%
- Latin America - 6.4%
- East Asia - 6.4%
- North America - 4.8%
- Eurasia and Middle East - 3.8%
- Oceania - 3.5%
The Eduniversal World Convention was therefore a success in terms of content, but not only. Universities and schools were also recognized for their efforts at the Palmes of Excellence Awards Ceremony and the Gala Dinner. It’s became a tradition to gather during this event that our most loyal partners would not miss for anything in the world!
The ceremonies ended in a festive tone, with the rise on the stage of the highest tower of the Fort in the old city of Dubrovnik, the best Business Schools in the world, enjoying the 1st place in the 2018 Eduniversal international ranking: MIT Sloan (for more information on this ranking and its methodology, click here).
And finally, the representatives of the schools and universities gathered under the Croatian sun for the informal networking activities, at the initiative of Eduniversal, whose objective is also and above all to promote networking at the international level, and to respond to the common issues of institutions, neither big nor small.
